Night game props

Postby Wolverine12 » Fri Jun 21, 2013 4:23 pm

I am hosting a game at night, and I need some props. I was thinking of getting glowsticks that each team has to defend, each glow stick will be a different color. I was wondering if there was an alternative instead of glow sticks or a way to make them shine really bright.

A Maglight in "candle" mode would work well for this. They are sturdy, reusable, and unlike a strobe light won't trigger epilepsy in anyone prone to the condition.
I'm a major chairsofter, sorry about that.

Road flares. When the flare is burned out, round or time or whatever you want to mark is over...

That would be good in an Urban environment. However, everywhere I play would go up in flames.

I do not know where this gentleman plans to play his game, so he may not have the worries I would have.

Second the road flares, but with a concern/gripe that bright things destroy night vision and frustrate the bejesus out of me when I lock eyes with them :)

Red tinted lantern, perhaps?

Don't look at them then... Like the sun, you shouldn't stare...

Road flares don't really shazaam your night vision unless you stare directly at them, in which case you're an idiot and deserve what you get.

Riddick where can I buy a led baton? Thanks everyone for the comments, I like the road flares idea. I play in Washington in the woods, but it always rains here a lot so I don't think I would have a problem with fires starting till late summer.

This is what I was going to suggest. Just make sure you have places to put them where they won't catch anything on fire. They make for a great eerie glow, and for night games it's best that it's not completely pitch black, you want some light in specific areas... like those around your objective. Make players have to cross through those lit areas and it makes the game play more interesting.

Oh ok I see what you are getting at. Yeah that seems like it would spice things up a bit.
