Fair enough. I would look into JG and Echo-1 stuff, from what I've seen it's generally pretty solid (by which I mean durable and has good workmanship and performance, as opposed to your generic Chinese knockoff brand). Tokyo Marui and Classic Army guns are very high quality, but almost always expensive as heck, unless you can get lucky and ebay one used from a fellow airsoft enthusiast. (And even then, expensive!)
And contrary to popular opinion, CYMA HAS made an occasional worthwhile gun, (their clone of the TM electric Glock 18 is proof, even though it's a pistol). But it's difficult to sort the good guns from the crap with them. Generally you just have to do a lot of Google searches and see what reviewers have said about that particular model. (And the fact that a lot of airsoft sites don't label the guns they sell properly is no help, either.
