Garsh I just cant decide

Postby Zebco » Sat Nov 28, 2009 1:58 pm

Well, I am dropping the clones and moving on to high ends...

I have come down to two choices, G&G M4, or used AUG

PROS to AUG:
-Shorter than M4, yet M16 length barrel
-Comfy feeling rifle

CONS to AUG:
-Id have to buy it used
-Id have to buy a crapload of new mags
-ITS NOT AMERICAN!!!!!

PROS to M4:
-I have craploads of mags for it
-Wouldnt need to buy anything extra

CONS to M4:
-Not as comfy
-Not as accurate

The big thing to me is having to replace 12 mags...thats just irritating...but I normally try to keep a US based loaout, which means carrying an armalite is a BIG touch to the loadout.

I am going for a scout position, which means accuracy and compactness is pretty much 2 of my best cards. The AUG is very comfy to me, but can that justify the fact that id have to buy a whole new set of mags? Can it justify me throwing my US loadout down the creek?

I hate gun shoppingImage

Who says the AUG is not as accurate as a M4, I mean sure the M4 has less barrel length then the AUG, but doesn't mean the M4 is less accurate.

Anyways I'd go m4, accessories are cheaper and the gearboxes are well known by airsmiths.

AUG, if it feels better in your hands you'll be able to operate it better. And I have one you can buy for cheap.

The AUG has a version 3 gearbox, which is also well known (and very nice to work on, no messing with motor alignment), so you don't really have to worry about that. It's well documented on Mechbox.com as well, so the version 2 vs version 3 thing is kind of a moot point.

If carrying an American weapon means that much to you with your loadout, go with the M4 and buy a tightbore if you find that more accuracy would be to your benefit (Play with it first. You may find that it's just fine if you're getting it from a higher end manufacturer.) It's also nice to be able to use the same magazines in everything.

It's really up to you. Don't buy a gun that you will hate just because it will be more accurate. You can always get a tightbore, heavier BBs, and a better hop up in airsoft, you can't do that with real steel. Get a gun that you will be happy with.

I dont hate either of them....But they have their pros n cons.

The AUG feels better at my shoulder (although reloading is a little weird), but the M4 is American

Then you should probably go for the m4. Its easy to customize and you don't have to buy more mags. Also, my m4 and G36e (which has an m16 length barrel) don't differ too much in accuracy- so that’s not huge.

You can also get a longer inner barrel for an M4 and hide it with a suppressor.

The M4 does have glorious speed reloading. I love how you can just hit the button and the spent one drops right out while you pull the next out of your pocket.

I could really use that leftover money to go grab an ACOG....

New problem, ASGI and EVIKE are BOTH out of stock on the G&G M4 RIS (or SEAL)

Don't get a G&G M4. CA and G&P are the same (enough) price and they'll treat you better.
