The best part is that it is out of stock. And ASGI is the only maker of G4s...

Anyway, you can use whatever battery you want in that. The blowback utilizes leftover air from the gearbox's cycling, and it does not use extra battery power to power the blowback.

It's expensive for what you're getting. If you are interested in buying an actual high quality replica, save an extra $50 and buy a CA M4. No, it won't have a sexy RIS, and it won't be tan, but those are things that can be added later, when you have the funds to upgrade. For $250 you're getting a mediocre plastic-bodied gun with some pretty-looking pieces attached to it. CA Sportlines are not decent guns, especially when you're paying $250 for them. A Proline CA will offer you much better reliability, longevity, and durability than any plastic-bodied entry-level-AEG-repackaged-with-fancy-uber1337-accessories gun out there.

It is a G&G combat machine base, not a CA sportline, in the link.

And I respectfully disagree with your assessment that CA sportlines are good guns for the price. Well, the short production metal bodied ones were, especially when you consider they could be had for $150 brand new if you shopped around.

For the plastic bodied ones however, I would agree (I'm not sure if the internals were any better on the metal body versions but mine has lasted many months on an 11.1v lipo =p )

I was going off what Airsoft750 said. Lesson learned about gleaning info from 14 year olds. Although I have a hard time beleiving that a plastic G&G is any different in terms of quality than a plastic CA, regardless. I also never said the Sportline was a good replica, metal or plastic.

Yeah, that will happen.

Probably not much if it is plastic vs. plastic. But you have to admit that for the price you can get a METAL body CA sportline, it is a pretty damn good value.

Oh by no means is it a good replica, but by no means is it bad either.

was I wrong when I said he was getting a pretty sportline? That $250 can get him a pretty good gun.

I just say to save up the few extra dollars and get a CA ABS (Auto Blowback System) that way you have plenty of aftermarket parts readily available to get it fixed if you have any problems.

I have a G4-A3 and I have to say it's fantastic and I would recommend any G4 to anyone. They arn't ABS plastic either, its some polymore (spelling?) thats super strong. The internals are great as well, not to mention the full RIS, blowback that hasn't failed me once, and to top it off. It's foward assist resets the gearbox to 0. it basically presses down on the anti-reversal latch. So don't talk down on the G4's

X Series= Upgraded gearbox with much better durability and shooting about 400 fps.

Normal= all stock gearbox parts, still good quality, but 330ish fps. would work for cqb.

I highly recommend getting a newer X-series. I have used this gearbox extensively and had no problems. I am quite pleased with its construction.

Does the same thing as the ICS M4s then.

We're not necessarily talking down to G4s, we're saying that ICS/CA guns are better, which they are. No matter what polymer the G4 is made of, it will not last as long as a true metal bodied AEG.

Well the G4's are at an affordable price you see, and polymer can't rust :p

CA M4s are affordably priced as well, and in the five years I've owned them none have rusted on me...
