MSA SORDIN Ranger headset problems

Postby mossy » Wed Sep 08, 2010 6:40 pm

Hey guys, I just picked up an MSA SORDIN ranger headset the other day and for whatever reason I can only receive through my headset... I have a Midland Radio set that as a two prong speaker/mic plug. The MSA has a plug that plugs into a PTP that converts it into the two prong thing thats on my Midland... And all the cable/ connections are made by MSA and came with the headset. I also purchased this headset NEW in package... Anybody know a fix???

- Thanks

How the shit did a 14 year old kid get the money to buy a $400+ headset?

Plus, AFAIK, MSA doesn't make PTT setups for janky a$$ Midlands, I'm guessing its a Icom plug, not a Midland.

Just replied to your PM.

Y'all would be surprised at how cheap you can find sordins if you turn over enough rocks..I have bought the kits for as cheap as $40.

$250 NIB (well new in bag) with all the PTP connectors and yes the 2 pin ICOM fits in the midland ports but I can not transmit through it... But I can receive through it. And does anyone know what radio I could get that would work with it and the type of radios you guys use?

Well, alright, then. Another thread that wouldn't be needed if the OP had used google first.

Glad to see it's fixed.

So you have no problem dropping 250 bucks for a dual comm headset, but when it comes time to pony up for a decent radio, you don't want to spend the money? /boggle

You can find them for decent prices on ebay if you look.
