Trigger response

Postby Patrick750 » Wed Sep 15, 2010 5:57 pm

So I have a G&P m16 totally stock except for a bucking. I want to improve its trigger response but all I know that helps is a good battery and a high torque motor. Which high torque motor would you guys recommend and any other upgrades. Also I would REALLY like to make the trigger more sensitive.
Thanks in advance.

i think there is a mosfet you can add that increases the trigger response.

It replaces the trigger switch with a mosfet. increases responsiveness.

Or you can do this...

I did the piston chop and ground off the tooth on the gear. Worked like a charm and I haven't had any problems. It also really upped the ROF.

I'm loving my G&P M160 motor in my G36, great trigger response and upped the ROF ~8-10 bps.

A 9.6v battery is a must if you haven’t done so already. ;)

EDIT: Also, a good reshimming/greasing never hurts, but I wouldn't bother unless you were going to actually open up the gearbox.

EDIT EDIT: Why isn’t this is the AEG/Electrics section?

I have a Systema magnum in one of my guns and a G&P M160 in the other, and the trigger response is literally as fast as it could get... And they both have standard ratio gears. One has an M120 and the other has an SP110 spring. Systema magnum gives a higher ROF but needs to be insulated out of the box. MOSFET's don't increase trigger response by much, I didn't notice a difference with either of my guns.

You could replace the connecters with deans connectors as well that'll up your response and rof simple.. lol

Trigger response is solely dependent on the instantaneous amperage available from the battery to the motor and the strength of the magnets used in the motor. Using a standard MOSFET and computerized MOSFET does not affect trigger response.

I take it the only batteries your using are the NiMhs. NiMh aren’t known for giving very good trigger response. NiCads are better, but a Lipo will give the best because they have the highest instant amperage (burst discharge). Look for a Lipo that is at least 2000mAh with a burst discharge around 30C-40C rating.

The G&P m120 High speed motor you have in your stock G&P is a good motor, but if a Lipo doesn't give you enough trigger response, then think about trading it out with a motor that has very strong magnets such as a high torque motor. A motor brand that is synonymous with strong magnets is SRC.

I have a SRC high torque motor and a Flightmax 2200mAh 11.1v 25C Lipo in my G36 and it gives me extremely fast trigger response with a Guarder m120 spring.

Thanks guys, I have deans and a lipo but its not doing it for me. I'll look into a new motor and probably a better lipo. Also some of you were telling me the spring you had in your gun. Does that affect trigger response? I'm fine with the stock 400fps spring and .25's..

Stronger spring makes it harder to cycle the gearbox, making it slower.
