WGC Custom AEG's?

Postby Whan » Thu Oct 28, 2010 1:48 am

I've recently been looking to buy a new AEG to supplement/replace my hacked up G&P AR (older version w/ 7mm box). It's become somewhat of a lemon for me (much by my own fault), and so I'd like to buy a solid and reliably performing AEG that I largely won't have to open up to upgrade.

I'd heard of WGC having its own "custom" line, and saw that they released a few new AR rifles in the BTO series. I can obviously tell they've decided to tack on their own externals, but I'm more concerned about the internals. Does anyone have any experience with WGC Custom rifles? Is it simply just a tacking on of external parts on a stock G&P rifle, or an in house assembly using G&P parts, or a gun that actually has had tuning and some upgraded parts fitted (such as a TBB).

I remember someone on this forum having had a WGC SAM-R?

Specific rifle in question:

Most likely they just put the GnP parts & Magpul parts together with their $70 7mm G&P gearbox.
Nice looking gun, $430 isn't bad at all.

Hmmm, I was hoping that the techs there at least tuned/worked it over. Anyone else have any experiences?

I have one and the externals wernt bad, but the internals to me didnt hold up. it had the same crap gears. For that price get a KWA.

+1 on the G4s. I've had mine for a while, and it's always been good to me

WGC gets the parts cheap from G&P on a wholesale deal and then assembles them in house. WGC buys the complete gearboxes if I recall correctly.

There was a discussion about this several years ago on Arnie's, until one of the memebers in Hong Kong just went and asked at WGC's store front.

Thanks Griz, i ended up contacting them with a question. They did confirm it was just simply a basic throwtogether of G&P parts, with a complete 8mm mechbox in some nice externals. Sort of disappointed, as I was hoping they'd at least tune it a bit, although I'm sure the 8mm g&p boxes are great. $430 plus shipping is a bit expensive for what amounts to a G&P gun, when G&P has their own in-house "customs" usually for cheaper.

Magpul parts alone on that gun already cost you $250ish, RAS is about $100, MBK is $120, gearbox is $70, motor=$35..etc.
The shipping probably costs $80.
All you have to do is just to replace the sector gear, piston set, M120 spring & a TB of that gearbox if you are a hardcore shooter.
It is still a very good price gun with all the beautiful stuff on, I believe all those G3 & G4 can't even match up with its class.
G&P makes the nicest M4s, sexy Contour in par with the AKs (other brands can't dup it)even if you don't have anything mount on it.
I have seen KWA, CA & E1 M4 series. They aren't bad but certainly not the best.
Pardon me if not agree with my comments.
