Locked rotor is when the driven machinery (gear box in this case) does not move. The motor will at this point draw it's maximum possible current. A good, safe, estimate for AC motors (fractional and integral hp) is 125% of peak load draw. This will trip your over loads (fuses in our case) early, with less damage to the motor. Anyone know the full load draw?
