Im looking to get a new multicam BDU. I was wondering which brand is better, TRU spec or Propper?

Propper uses better material and has better colors.

I prefer Propper, but that's a personal opinion. You're going to get tons of mixed reviews, and everyone with their own opinion. You need to just go check it out for yourself.

Yeah, I would do that but I don't have any local retailers who carry either brand.

Interesting to see the replies. I've had the opposite experience. My Propper stuff is heavy and faded horribly. The Truspec stuff I have is the same fabric type as my duty uniform and the color has held up great.

That's weird to hear. I have some Propper MultiCam that's holding out great, but I had Tru Spec MARPAT that faded horribly. Maybe I just got a crappy pair :?

I got some tru spec MultiCam used from someone in NC and these things were beat to hell. The Pants had holes, the zipper broke off the jacket and velcro was wearing off the pockets. I repaired it easily but just thought i would put that up.

I have some of both. Propper is the better quality brand. Tru spec is sold by many but if you can get Propper , I would recommend it.

I have 3 pairs of Propper trousers and they DO NOT get damaged very easily. I have a pair that I've used heavily since 2008 (bought them big) and haven't had any rips or fading.

I have a tru-spec multicam BDU I won in a raffle over a year ago and it has NO fading whatsoever. All of my friends with propper MC's had theirs fade a lot.

I've had mixed experiences with Tru-Spec.

My first pair of Tru-Spec MARPAT was bought of off evike (big mistake). It was horrible color, extremely light colered, and almost as thin as a t-shirt.

I have had my second pair from a local surplus for a year now, and they still have great color, and are still running strong. They keep water, mud, sand, and everything else off of you, and they are just awesome.

I haven't had any experience with propper though.

Odd my propper pants faded and they ripped easy. Then again I didn't buy rip-stop so I can understand.

I own both brands. I have a Tru-Spec combat utility blouse and trouser in digital urban. The color did fade slightly when I washed the pants. You have to consider how your washing them, temperature of water ammount of soap used ETC. I recommend you turn your clothes inside out when you have to wash them. My Propper trousers are in MARPAT with the ACU style pockets. The material feels heavier and they've held up well under mild abuse. I have yet to wash them though so I don't know about color fade. Again, your technique will be a factor.

OK cool, I think Ill go with Propper, they seem pretty legit and Ive heard more good about them than TRU spec. Now Im deciding between Multicamand DCU.

I have the same camelbak and CB Pantac replica of the EPC as the dude on the right. What I was wondering is do I get the DCU to match the camelbak so I have just two color scheme, or do I go with the multicam which would make it a three color scheme.
