King 5 News did a special on the 11 0 clock news last night about airsoft guns being converted to shoot bullets.
This isn't the video of the report but its the same news channel talking about the same thing. Please watch the short clip I have a question that goes along with it.

Does anyone else feel like they're making us seem like bad guys?

There have been a few reports like this. In actuality the only way to convert an airsoft rifle to a RS would be if you have every part for a real steal rifle, and installed those parts in the lower receiver and then you would only be able to fire a few shots before the rifle destroyed it's self.

Yes these reports sort of demonize airsoft rifles, and aren't very fair. But that's just because people are afraid of things they don't understand.

Having read the article, I have one question;
How many of our tax dollars were spent for the ATF to actually alter the WE GBB M4 rifles to successfully fire actual bullets?
The stupidity of it is astounding.
Talk about going WAY out of your way to prove a point.
As if it were so difficult to get your hands on the real thing in this country.

The "expert" gun shop couldn't even make the necessary mods successfully.

Stupid waste of money is wasteful.

Yellow journalism at it's finest.
Step 1.) Generate a theory
Step 2.) Exhaust all resources to prove theory correct even if theory is proved bunk.

How about you actually investigate the story completely and then report?
At no point did they inteview anyone with an actual interest in the airsoft side of the issue.

I don't think it makes us sound bad. Which video are you watching? He says we like realistic replica guns because we like to participate in mock battles or reenactments. He even goes further to say that we're the type of customers who don't appreciate the "cheap plastic" crap that makes up 90% of the rest of the Airsoft market. It's about time somebody recognized WHY we want high quality replicas that are durable.

"An Airsoft gun is a toy" is a myth invented by China and further perpetuated by the makers and importers of low-end Airsoft guns to get American parents to give them money. Clearly, here in the United States the Airsoft gun is a training tool or a piece of sporting goods equipment, not a toy.

Regarding the video, you are correct.
Unfortunately, that was not the focus of the article.
The main point of the article was that the WE GBB's are being classified as firearms.
Firearms with no "fire."

I've seem many videos that pretty much call us crazy people who just want to shoot other people. I think someone needs to make a high quality video about airsoft with some good game clips in it to show what airsoft is really about and submit that to news channels that make such stories.
