Need Help with deans!

Postby CCCman » Thu Mar 03, 2011 11:54 pm

Ok,
I'm gonna make the switch to deans, but i have no idea what deans are besides they are a kind of connector and that they supposedly are better. What am i suppose to do/buy to switch to deans?

You need to buy some deans connectors sets from your local hobby shop and have a soldering gun, wire strippers, and some solder. Cut the wires just below the tamiya connectors and strip them about 1/2 an inch or so and tin the wires and connectors. Slide on a slip of shrink wrap and make sure it wont heat up while soldering! Then attach the deans and wires together, red for positive, black for negative. Make sure to wire the male connector to the gun and the female connector to the battery. Also be careful when changing out the connectors on the battery :)

No. You'll have the low resistance of the Deans, but you'll still have the crappier distance tamiya connectors. If you don't trust your soldering skills there are plenty of people who would help you out for pretty cheap. Since if you know what you're doing, it's not the least bit hard.

Ship me your battery and gun (or whatever you want converted to deans). I charge $5 per battery, and $10 per gun. I can redeliver at a game, or reship to you if you'd like.
