G&G F2000 or L85A2 or GF76

Postby matteumayo » Sat Apr 23, 2011 11:37 am

I have a budget of ~$400, and am looking to buy a new gun.

So far these are my favorites:

F2000:

L85A2:

GF76:

All of the above are G&G, between $390 to $395.

Which should I get? (or if you have a better idea please share!)

EDIT: 100th post! :D

With shipping, the L85 is going to out of your ~$400 because of Hong Kong shipping. As far as the other two go, since you're in Portland, I would just drive to Outlet and handle the guns for yourself. You may decide you don't like either. Just my $0.02. Also with a budget of ~$400, you need to make sure you get other necessities like extra mags, extra battery, etc. You could also look into G&P guns. I would take them over G&G, but I understand the appeal of having a more unique gun like the FNC or the FN2000.

I agree with Shifty. The FN2000 is a nice system, but is a little finicky at some times. I would have to back G&P, but have not seen any unique weapons like the ones you are looking into. The L85 would be nice, but I've heard they eat pistons like nobody's business due to the EBB.

Okay.

I'll look into G&P a bit, see if I like anything.

I already have a P90 and G36c, so I'm at no shortage of guns that differ from the usual M4/M16s.

The L85 is a good solid choice and is available much cheaper than that (PM me for details)
The piston eating issue is a function of the blowback which is easily disabled. They are good performers in the field and still work pretty well indoor due to their short overall length. I've been running a G&G L85A2 for a while, as have a number of my friends. Good choice for sure.

Touch them, decide which one you like. G&P makes fantastic guns, but these G&G weapons are really nice too, and all very cool builds.

They're all pretty stinkin' cool. But if I recommend the FNC any more, it won't be rare.

The only one I haven't molested is the L85. The F2000 is cool, not really my style but surprisingly comfortable, with an intuitive safety and handy mag release. Pretty ambi-friendly if I remember correctly. Feels comfy and large/in charge. Balanced pretty well too. Seems like it came from Halo.

The FNC is pimp, but nice and front heavy. Skinnier than either of those also. Known to be extremely long. Of course, not a bullpup. Buy too many (more than 1) bullpup, and people might start to think you're weird. That can be good or bad. Bullpups are really handy imo.

L85? British! (You probably knew that) Seems like a neat gun. Its real steel form hates lefties, it will tear open your cheek and throw hot brass where your flesh once was. But who cares, toy guns are more fun.

I don't know about its blowback system, but the G&G M4s with EBB are pneumatic, correct? and I've been told those are very reliable.
