Advice on Internal Upgrades in Echo 1 M249 Para

Postby Deuce [TFW-AO6] » Sun Jul 24, 2011 10:41 am

Hey I own a Echo 1 M249 Para. And I want to upgrade it to 380-400 FPS while having that rate of fire form 330ish spring on a lipo. I don't know if this is possible but I want a high ROF and the punch of 400 FPS.

It's possible. You would just need to throw in a high output motor, higher speed ratio gears, and have a good shim job. Then be running it with an 11.1 lipo in it. This will cost alot of money and will probably put alot of stress on the GB.
My father once told me, "Some times all you have is a bullet and a prayer, don't miss."

An SP120 spring since PGC replica gearboxes get a little less FPS than standard guns if I remember right, and some Chinese neo magnet motor with a decent sized lipo should get you up to that but your ROF goal is pretty vague so it's hard to tell. A&K internals are pretty bad so you might want to change the nozzle, hopup bucking, mod the hopup chamber, and change out the cylinder head as well.

CHECK THE SHIMS.

I kid you not, I opened up my friend Drew's and the damn thing was shimmed so tight the gears couldn't even spin. No wonder it was so slow. Also, clean out that nasty grease and put in something better (make sure to me a non petro/plastic eating based grease)
