Dboy ak with problems?

Postby Unicorn » Mon Aug 01, 2011 9:52 am

I just got a new Dboys rk-06 this weekend. I put in a battery and it shot 2-3 bb's then stop firing completely. I then changed the battery to a fresh one and nothing. I checked the fuse and there was nothing wrong. I check the motor and nothing was unplugged. The motor doesn't even whine or turn.

So basically what could be the problem?

No cut wires? If it is Tamiya wired, the wires could be detached from the plug...
Does the battery get hot?

I had something similar happen to me, and it was due to a short. Somewhere along the wires, the plastic insulation was pinched and ripped open and the bare wire was coming into contact with my metal receiver. Inspect all your wiring and make sure this isn't happening. If it is, get some electrical tape or heat shrink tubing and "re-insulate" the wire, and you should be fine.

Also, (and I know Switchback said it already) check and re-check all your connections and plugs. I wouldn't trust any Chicom soldering job; they always use either too much or not enough.

Omg thank you vibora. It was a short. The shrink wrap fell off one of the solder points. It works now!!
