Any nub in paticular you would suggest? I'm using the one that comes with the madbull bucking, and its pushing down so hard even with the hopup midway up that bb's wont come out of the barrel.

The stock one should be fine. Or, if you have some wiring on hand that's roughly the width of a nub, you can cut it to size and use that.

I second the wiring. Get some 18 awg scrap wire and it should fit just fine. Just be sure to strip it and pull out the copper before using it

Thanks for the help guys. Put the stock nub back in and I can all ready visually see that it is a way better fit. I will test it out tommorrow and get back to you. In case it still is arching in a direction, what would be the next upgrade to go with?

Making the hop up seat straight would be a start.. It's a fix not an upgrade.

Got to test out the gun today, Wow, what a major difference with the stock nub. I have the range of a decent bolt now :). There is still a little spin to the bbs, which I think is what you are talking about with seating the hop up right. Anything in particular I should know about doing that? I made extra care to make sure that the bucking was aligned to the barrel, and I guess it could be off a little.

Thanks for the help.

Just make sure that the internal nub of the bucking is being aligned properly with the hop window and nub, meaning that when you look through the barrel with the hop up chamber attached it should all look perfectly straight.

Idk about the BB's you have but they could have internal air bubbles causing their accuracy to be off..

Hey guys. Got to test out my m14 at The Horde. Wow, that bucking made a HUGE difference. It's still not entirely aligned but it was close enough for the game. When I pull apart my gun again I will get it properly aligned.

Anyways, the next step for me is getting a new barrel and spring. I went from 380 fps at fallout to 320 fps at rez IV to 265 fps at The Horde. Although it chronoed so low, it still had good range and the guys I nailed said it hurt like a phony pony. Could it of just been the chrono? Also, what spring should I get to hit 400? I'm looking at a m120, but I got recommended a m130 and I'm not sure if that would push me over 400fps. I also heard brand doesn't matter because of the simple construction of the spring.

The other thing is the barrel. Although the inner barrel is an nonstandard length of 520mm, how much difference would the 11mm make if I were to get a 509mm barrel? would it help to get an even longer barrel? Also, what brand of barrel should I get? From reading around I've heard that promethius and PDI are the way to go, but I would love a second opinion.

As always thanks for answering my barrage of questions :)

If you have the distance and consistency, you don't need to get it to 400.

With that drastic of a velocity loss, you're probably not looking at spring degradation. You're losing it somewhere else... Anybody else feel free to correct me on that.

Get the same length to keep your cylinder happy, and only get a 6.03mm.

An M130 will get you almost 500FPS... An SP110 spring should put you just under 400 with good compression after it's broken in. A madbull or lonex barrel would be just fine for the tightbore, I highly recommend lonex.

I'll second the Lonex. They make amazing products.

I only know of a few 520mm barrels, one for 60$ that was specifically for the m14 and also out of stock, and the others for the price of another AEG. Should I just go with a 509mm if I cant find a realistic 520mm? Or should I consider getting the 125$+ barrel?

Okay, just ordered a guarder sp110 and a madbull 509mm. I looked around for Lonex but none of the websites I go to even had them listed as manufactures. I checked out their site and although it looks like good parts they definitely could stand to hire a more qualified translator :P. Anyways, next step is consistency. Once I get everything into the m14 and tested I will get back to you guys. I have yet to crack open the gearbox on my m14, or any AEG for that matter. anything I should know about putting in the spring? Thanks :)

If you've never done it before I recommend getting someone to do it for you and watch what they do. Other than that, no advice any different from opening any other gearbox up. As for the Lonex parts, they're mostly on ACM sites (even though they're made in Taiwan) like ebairsoft or shooterCBgear but in the US the parts are rebranded to "Bravo" on sites like ASGI similar to the whole Echo1/JG thing.
