Steve has it right.

I hate M4's. The last thing I'd want to do is run around with some stupid SBR stubby killer.

If it's rental gun only, don't exactly know why you are advertising it here..

How do you know they will lose business? Maybe the whole Birthday thing takes off and thats all they cater to, and NO open play, then what?

Anyway it was stated that 2 days were bring your own gear days so it's not like it isn't an option at all.

But only on the weekdays?

And to only cater to 12-17 year old kids? That's tunnel vision in business. You're alienating a large audience that would like to be able to pew-pew when it's convenient for them. Not only when the business decides to tolerate their presence.

Really???? Tell that to the owners of Chucky Cheese, their demographic fits and it wasn't "tunnel vision".

Your getting your panties in a bunch with something that the owners have never mentioned. I'm sure it will be like almost all rental items. If it breaks just because then you go get another one, if it breaks because of your misuse, then you bought it. Geez

Didn't someone make a post regarding how Thursday's little tour went? They said there is going to be yes, time for the 12-17 year old kids, then an open arena for all ages, and later at around 1900 they were having an 18+ arena until 2300.
A guy opens his door and gets shot, and you think that of me? No! I am the one who knocks!

I don't think Chucky Cheese's business plan involved using a hobby that has an extremely large portion of players over the age of 18.

What they do there works for them. Little kids like to go and play in a pit of balls and win tickets to buy a bouncy ball. Adults don't.

If there was something there that piqued the interest of adults, like a bar ;), you can be damned sure that they would cater to that audience. Because if you don't make money off of those people, someone else will. Why turn away business that can make you money?

I'm sure over the first days / weeks / months / years, the business owners will play with the format until they find what works for them. Having spent a good bit of time talking with folks who ran / run them, AP is not where the money is.

This is true, but why turn away my money if I simply do not want to use a piece of crap gun and my own gear?

The majority of their business will come from teenagers, not from mil-sim enthusiasts over 21. Mil-sim enthusiasts get tired of Arenas and stop playing there. We also have access to lots of properties where we can play for free as much as we want. Lots of newbies don't have that option. It's more like a laser tag experience, which personally does not appeal to me but some people like it.

I'm guessing part of the reason why they have a "NO outside guns" rule may have to do with safety. They want to know exactly what gear is being used. Considering you don't know how/if the guns being brought in were upgraded, or if outside magazines were loaded with .20 gram BBs or .43 - the safe bet is to require that all equipment be your own. Perhaps as they start to get the swing of things they may allow more outside guns once they have their screening practices figured out.
