Disassembly issues...

Postby league 4 » Sat Dec 17, 2011 4:18 pm

So I got a MK18 recently that has an SRC piston and gear set in it that I want to switch out but when I try to open it up, I've run into some issues... First, the motor just does not come out. I think the pinion gear is stuck on a wire or something? And the rear receiver pin has a screw in it that/s tightened too much for me to turn it without turning the entire pin, and it doesn't have a notch in the other side for a screwdriver to hold it still, it's just smooth. Any ideas? I've never had either of these happen to me and I feel like there isn't anything I can do about them.

Body Pin: Use pliers to hold the non-slotted end.

Motor: No suggestions.

Tried that, not enough area to get a grip at all unfortunately.

For the motor, try using a flat head screwdriver and gently torquing it out. It'll probably come out eventually.

Pictures of said body pin?

Rear pin:
Use a large drillbit to wipe out the entire "head" because you won't want it anyways. As soon as you do enough it will just pop off.

Try needle nose laying against the body.

Nevermind, got it. I had to jam a screwdriver in between the body and the pin (right next to it) to give it enough friction so that it wouldn't turn with the screw. Thanks guys.
