What equipment should entry-level players get?

I'm out in Creswell tryin to figure out what equipment that entry level players can have fun with? I've seen some old posts about props and grenades any advice?

Online will generally have better prices, walk in stores have better customer service.

Walk in stores: Airsoft Outlet North West is in Cornellius, Thunderkiss NW is in Vancouver, and Black Water Tactical is in Salem.

Websites: Airsoftgi.com, evike.com (some people have had issues with them, I have never had an issue with them. Call to make sure your stuff is in stock), airsoftatlanta.com, ehobbyasia.com (ships from Hong Kong).

Molle is nice as far as configurations goes, but can get expensive quick when you realize that condor really is cheap crap.

ALLICE is good in that it's cheap and available at a lot of surplus stores (Aloha Surplus, Sgt. Gators,...).

ALICE and MoLLE systems are completely different, but they're both a method of holding stuff to your person.

ALICE was adopted in the 70's, and has since been updated. Here's an example ALICE kit and a wikipedia article:

MoLLE works in a completely different way, and is the modern replacement for ALICE. It has since been replaced in the Marines by the ILBE. However, the ILBE and the MoLLE system both use PALS ladders. When most people say MOLLE they mean PALS.

If you need cheap gear, there's a lot of chinese crap that wouldn't survive in the mideast that folks around here love 'cause it looks neat and it's inexpensive. I've got stuff for sale, and there's almost always someone with too much stuff. Good huntin'.

Looking in the classified market section on this site is also a good place to look for affordable gear. Again make sure to have the basics to keep you safe and having fun all day: AEG(with High cap mag or multiple mags and enough battery for at least 4 hour of play), safe EYE PRO, BOOTS, something to carry WATER, BDUs to blend in (other players aswell as the foliage) and something to carry extra magazine or BBs. You don't need alice gear or a molle vest necessarily. I think you could get by with something as simple as of those shoulder slung bandolier pouches that you can find for $5 at surplus stores.

Yeah i saw the marketplace but no one is really selling anything....
Where can i get props and things like that? I saw a post about going to garage sales for props but ive seen some really sweet ones too. Do people buy them from a prop site? And thanks again guys for answering my noobie questions >.<

If you've seen team SIX website, they have a safe disarmable "nuke", fake rockets, and things like that. I want to have objective based skirmishes but with working or inert props.

Oh. Usually, when you go to a game, the hosts of said game usually provide a prop or two. One notable event was OP: Sundown- It had really awesome C4 bricks, and dis-armable "bombs".

Here, users don't provide the props. We pay a little bit extra for games, to get that awesome touch.

I would go to an army serplus store they have all kinds of random props I know of Andy & Bax in Portland and I'm sure there are more stores like it, they are a little expensive but that's expensive to a 15 year old who makes money by mowing the yard but I would find your local serplus store and see what's there

There's also a good deal of European surplus that's damn cheap. Fragistan loves the 4-cell AK pouches, especially the East German ones, which can be found frequently at Andy & Bax in Portland for under 5 bucks, and are similarly cheap online, and they can just be thrown on any belt you have or just the old-style (not plastic clip) style of ALICE belts. They hold four magazines of really most anything and are just great pouches (And water resistant!). For hydro, the cheapest tends to be American canteens with their covers, but note that the 1 liter ones are far more comfortable on any belt, and the 2 liter is pretty much designed for use on the outside of the ALICE backpack.

Mix two canteens with their pouches, two magazine pouches (either AK or ALICE M16) on an ALICE belt, grab a cheap set of used uniforms, and a used hat of some sort, and finally some boots if you don't have them and you've got an entire gear set up that works great for the price that many people here pay for their tactical pants.
