Over 18 for parts?

Postby mikegioia91 » Tue Aug 14, 2007 11:37 pm

I have ordered an MK96 off of shortyusa along with some other things. I was wondering, If i bought a tightbore barrel (maybe some other upgrades) but no actual guns, if it would still need to be bought by an individual over 18. I turned 17 not too long ago, and my parents aren't all that cooperative with ordering offline.

Thanks.

I have ordered like 5 airsoft guns off of the internet and never gotten asked for age verification or anything. Usually using my own debit card.

I think you should be safe.

GOOD. I hope it gets fuckin' impossible for people under 18 to order airsoft anything I had to arrest a 14 year old the other day for committing a crime w/ a springer... That was hard for me to do being someone who has actively participated in the airsoft community for the past 3 years...

ah, makes sense now, just saw the age and location. I knew he was military, but was wondering why he was arresting german kids for committing crimes with airsoft guns :)

Do you forget you were once under 18? Don't be an a$$ just because you just stopped being a minor, think before you talk. If you heard that a couple of years ago you would have fought it tooth and nail. Sorry to be a jerk after your encounter but you needed to be cross-checked back into reality.

Buying parts under 18? *Shrug* It's just like real guns.

No, he wouldn't have fought tooth and nail. His parents were behind him playing airsoft and thus would have bought the gear for him and accepted the responsibility if anything were to go wrong. Same thing with my parents.

If you are under 18 and your parents will not back you playing, there is probably a reason other thing "they don't like guns", the ones are good you're an irresponsible douchebag.

Order? I guess...

And I agree, without parental backing, a minor shouldn't play, and we (AP) has safeguards against such things.

If you're buying off of shortyusa(bad idea for almost any products other than accessories) you have to be 18. i ordered a tac vest and goggles and they cancelled my orders 3 times before telling me what was going on. Its 18 or over to order anything off of shortyusa. if youre account lists you as under 18 they will cal lthe number you gave and ask for an adult to confirm the order.

No, you do not have to be 18 to purchase airsoft parts. You do however have to be 18 to purchase airsoft replica's.

However this being followed is up to each airsoft retailer.
