Something disturbing

Postby mmmsammichmaker » Sun Sep 23, 2007 9:40 pm

I was walking downtown today, right near the Lincoln High School field, when I saw a guy in the front seat of his car, flashing an airsoft gun around, fully visible. Not only is that alone stupid, but it was while a PGE game was going on. Orange tip removed, etc. If this crap continues, some retarded legislation that clamps own on this game further. will probably pass. Any Ideas on how to stop things like this from happening? (It was an MP7)

Easy, You could have called the cops and have them deal with him, then the issue would have been solved. At least with that guy.

The problem with calling the cops is that you're offering free publicity of said incident, inviting bad press for airsoft as a whole.

I don't mess with people who own guns, they have contingency plans.

Yeah, but that's one of the risks you have to deal with.

what makes you so sure it wasn't a real gun?

I mean, sure, it isn't likely due to the fact that it was an MP7, but people get all sorts of illegal weaponry.

I would have talked to the guy and advise him that his actions could make him MANY enemies. Perhpas he is a new player, doesn't know the cautions we take. Or perhaps juts a moron that needs to be told how to act. Either way, I would have use escalation of "force" as needed. If he failed to listen, or was an a$$, then you call the cops or even better, inform the school and see how he reacts to the SWAT team when they respond to a gun on school grounds. (I believe the law is 400 feet)

Call the cops. Most times a police callout do not result in the evening news being called. Especially if you use the words "Airsoft replica" rather than "airsoft gun". It will make the blotter, but if he was a minor, most of the details would be stripped out.
