Seattle Airsoft Legal Status

I want to purchase an airsoft gun, but my parents are very worried about safety and legality. does anyone know the status of airsoft guns in seattle, WA? I have checked the city ordinances site as someone on this forum reccomended, but the search failed to come up with any relevant laws. can someone tell me what search terms are effective? I do not plan to take the gun off my property. can anyone help me out?

Airsoft guns are fine to possess and own in Seattle, don't wave it around in public, and don't remove the orange tip, even if you don't plan to take it off your property. Depending on where you live, it may or may not be legal to shoot outside your home. If you live within city limits, it wouldn't be a good idea, if you are outside city limits, or in "un-incorporated King County", you are fine.

You should be able to fire in your yard if you leave the orange tip intact, and warn your neighbors BEFORE you even go out to shoot the first time. If you live outside of the city, you should be fine.

well since you're still under the rule of your parents; you're in the clear if you keep the orange tip on and you dont go shooting people in public

Exactly, tool.
Most, if not all, cities do not allow bb guns(which includes airsoft)to be fired in city limits.
However, I've fired mine plenty in my old back yard in N. Portland.
Basically, don't be stupid.
I hate saying it, but just don't do anything with it that you wouldn't do with a real firearm(well, while nto at games or what not).
