Orange Tips on Airsoft Guns

Postby MikeP5 » Fri Dec 19, 2008 5:47 pm

I personlly think that airsoft guns should be legal with or without an orange tip. Paintballers don't have to have and neather do BB-Guns. If a bb-gun is going to be able to be soled without an orange tip than airsoft guns should atomatically have that option. Yes some people may misuse them or bring them out in public. But that's what this site and group is for. We airsoft in areas where the public will not see us.
I just don't see the reason why we have to have orange tips on our guns.

dont take it as 100% fact because im not sure, but i think they only require the orange tip to be sold. not to be owned.

paintball guns are not replicas of firearms. BB guns are not sold with an orange tip because they are potentially lethal. An airsoft gun comes mandated with an orange tip so that it is recognizable as not a fully automatic weapon that fires bullets.

Airsoft guns are legally required to have fixed, blaze orange tips for importing, exporting, and retail sale. After that, it doesn't matter what you do to the orange tip.

That said, everything iterated in your post is either common fact, or issues that have been discussed here and elsewhere ad nauseum. In the future, please search to make sure that your topic has not already been discussed before posting a new thread.

Thank you., and welcome to AP.
