It was in fact made to save your eyes as well. From gas that is. You are correct that it was not made to protect your eyes from bb's.

its hit and miss, I've glanced at the gas masks in my local surplus store. some are ANSI and some aren't.

Alright sounds good, ill make sure to stress test and all of that. Lol I was considering doing the German helmet with the goggles but I couldnt find any goggles with the right tint or look.

The MCU-2P gas mask has an outer protective lens that is ballistically rated... It has a good field of view, but difficult to get a good cheekweld.
