the jg/echo1 ak47s are tanks.

until you end up like my uncle and take a 9.6 mikita stick and modify it to slide into the stock so they shoot 1500 rounds a minute until the gearbox frys/falls apart.

I don't know what you mean tanks they are lighter then my Classic Army CQC and it shoots 400FPS outta the box and mine have been used by every FNG that comes down the pike and I have had NO prob. with any of them . Thats the facts not hear-say .99 bucks 400 FPS outta the box and it shoots Crossman BB's with no prob's thats a good cheep gun that when I'm done with it if it still shoots I'll still get 75% of its value or better , can you say that about any other sport? Or cheep guns? 8)

Haha well thanks everyone for the small advice. It sure will do me better in the future of airsoft for me. Until I can get myself a job, I probably wont be getting a...oh I don't know how to say good non-clone gun. :D
If you can help me here, what affordable airsoft gun brands are the best?
Classic Army, Tokyo Marui, Marushin, Real Sword, etc.?

Damn, that was somewhat a hostile post. Jokes. I'm not in airsoft for backyard wars, it's just that I don't currently have money to buy a high-grade airsoft gun and I won't be getting money to buy one in quite awhile,
So with the money I have I could only buy a guy ranging from $100-$150.
I could just look around sites for good Echo 1s cause they're what I think, in my opinion good, affordable and somewhat cheaper guns.
I could use alot of help here cause I am new to airsoft's greatest things like skirmishes and high-grade airsoft guns compared to cheapo Crossmans you buy at Walmart.

An echo1 is a good reliable gun.

A CA is a good, more reliable, better quality gun.

You get what you pay for, but for the $$, echo1 and JG are your best value, IMO.

Fair enough. I would look into JG and Echo-1 stuff, from what I've seen it's generally pretty solid (by which I mean durable and has good workmanship and performance, as opposed to your generic Chinese knockoff brand). Tokyo Marui and Classic Army guns are very high quality, but almost always expensive as heck, unless you can get lucky and ebay one used from a fellow airsoft enthusiast. (And even then, expensive!)

And contrary to popular opinion, CYMA HAS made an occasional worthwhile gun, (their clone of the TM electric Glock 18 is proof, even though it's a pistol). But it's difficult to sort the good guns from the crap with them. Generally you just have to do a lot of Google searches and see what reviewers have said about that particular model. (And the fact that a lot of airsoft sites don't label the guns they sell properly is no help, either.)

Ooh that's the worst thing, when a retailer lies to you on a gun's details just so you can buy it. Not saying all do this but many airsoft site's I've seen forget to include some of the things the gun really comes with[Thanks to reviews I read and watch].
Just a note I think I should say, when my Boyi Dboys M4 came in, the first thing I looked at was the manual and what I noticed was that the damn piece of shit was scribbled with Chinese writing and I couldn't read most of it. Surprisingly, the gun was in brand new condition. Looked like the original packing was there and it hadn't been messed with.
Just a strange thing I'd say.

Well, I'm glad your brand new gun surprised you by looking brand new.

Most of the manuals come in mostly Chinese.
