Eyewear Issue

Postby Im4eversmart » Mon Feb 02, 2009 7:50 am

Hey folks.

I currently wear glasses because I have difficulty seeing, I'd just like to say too, that it doesn't mean I'm totally blind :) .

Anyways, I was wondering, when I played paintball, the paintball mask I wore irritated me because of my glasses interfering, I was wondering for airsoft as I am new to it, how I could go about getting equipment or maybe what to get so that it doesn't get in the way of my glasses.

Does anyone else have this issue?

You could wear large mesh goggles over your glasses, sometimes they cause glasses to fog more... Another possibility is to get some sort of recreational prescription safety eyewear such as rec-specs. Some places that have "buy 1 pair, get another pair free" have a line of safety glasses... that's how I got mine for cheap... Back before Lasik.

Hey Matt.

I'm going to presume that Mesh Goggles would be the easier option simply because of less hassle, although rec-specs seem pretty decent. I'll have to look into it, but for now, Mesh Goggles would be great. When you say they fog up more, how frequently would they fog up?

Thanks.

The problem is that mesh goggles create a pocket of air around your eye-glasses, block ventilation, and sometimes cause more fogging. Theoretically they should be better than regular goggles because the mesh is breathable, but they can still cause fogging.

I also know that you can get prescription Wiley-X eyepro. I'm sure Oakley probably does as well.

I've had the choice for contacts, but I just don't prefer them.

I'm going to look into the goggles though. Thanks for the suggestions.

ESS makes RX inserts for their goggles that are pretty cheap.
