Scamming

Hmm.
Guess I'll put this here, if there's a more appropriate forum for it, then I guess the mods will move it.

Recently on the AirsoftCT boards we had a scammer. He was making deals with people, and then pushing them into agreeing to ship the same day. So their gun arrived, and they received a broken springer or some such replacement.
Not only that, he operated by joining two forums at a time. On one he'd ask nooby questions, and therefore get people to respond helpfully and generally look experienced.
On the other he'd create a name that was the same or very close to one of the helpful guys, and then make a deal with someone, referring them to the other forum so his mark would see that name being helpful and respected.
He messed with the wrong person, and through the power of computer nerd-ery he was found and the situation is currently being resolved.

He seemed to limit his activities to most of the CT, MA, NJ and NY forums, but I thought it would be worthwhile to bring this to the attention of the community at large.
Be careful with who you deal with, and be careful with how you exchange things.
I only buy locally or if it's going to be shipped it's brand new from a store.

this is why i always make sure to do deals on used guns and equipment in person, with cash.

That's incredibly difficult.
He adopts a name that's already know.
But he's being dealt with.
