Orange Tip???

Postby Matt. » Thu Feb 26, 2009 11:09 pm

OK so this might sound like a complete noob question but you say all airsoft guns must have a orange tip, right?

But in all of your photos and videos, I don't see a single flash of orange!

Can someone please explain???

According to laws you have to have a permanent blaze orange tip affixed to any gun you are either selling or shipping.

once its in your possession its yours to do with as you please, keep in mind without that orange tip (and sometimes even with the orange tip) it can and will be mistaken for a real firearm so don't be a moron and flail it around in public or where the public can easily see.

Its kind of like the label on the mattress that says:
UNDER PENALTY OF LAW DO NOT REMOVE THIS TAG

Keep in mind I'm not telling you to go out and take off all your orange tips. I am a consenting adult and have modified my replicas as I like and am prepared to accept any consequences it may include.

and the point of that post was?

now onto business,

read the stickies,

muzzles only have to have an orange tip if they are being sold or mailed. otherwise just treat it like a regular firearm. (ie: dont wave it around in your front yard)

Edit: damn, mobius beat me to the punch

One thing to keep in mind. now a days people take real guns ang paint the tip orange, so dont think a cop wont "take you down" just because you have an ornage tip on.

The orange tip is preference. Because noobs and deer cannot see the color orange, it aids in hunting them.

It's a sticky. It's four freaking posts above this one. It's titled "Orange Flash Hiders'.

Seriously? I've got to ask: Are you lazy or stupid?

I really wish that people had to read the stickies in each subsection of the forum and answer a couple of multiple choice questions about the content of each sticky that has been read before they are allowed to post comments.

Ooh! And maybe a two-page essay about themselves. Any more than, say, 5 spelling or serious grammatical errors, or failure to use proper capitalization, and their account is disabled until they get it right.
