Can you have other bright-colored tips?

Postby TheBrotherhood » Fri May 07, 2010 7:16 pm

I have flash hiders with Orange tips for all of my guns, but one broke...
Is is legal if I painted another bright color like red?
I cant make an orange because I ran out of orange paint and tape.

Orange tips are only needed to import into the US.

Once they are here you can have whatever the hell you want on them.

If I were you I would order a metal flash hider, since they are black, and make your gun look sexy. You can find those at ASGI, Evike, etc.

Ok, question:

I keep hearing people go on about how they got their guns confiscated because there was no orange tip on the end. Is this actually a problem for some of you?

And yes, I think this is on topic.

I have eliminated the sexy orange tip in preferance for a dull black tip on all my airsoft weapons with no issues what so ever.

When importing an airsoft replica it must have an orange tip. When a business sells an airsoft replica they leave the orange tip on. Other than that, you don't really need an orange tip. I do advise younger players to keep the orange tip on tho.

There are states that mandate orange tips. I believe but have no direct knowledge that there are potentially cities that can make laws regarding this in spite of what the State law is.

I believe Beaverton is the only city in Oregon, that requires you to have the orange tip on if you have an airsoft replica in public. But they also prohibit you from playing in public places.

BEAVERTON – It’s official: Airsoft guns and other realistic looking toy firearms are prohibited in Beaverton’s public places.

The City Council passed a new ordinance Monday night regulating the use and possession of replica firearms in public.

It goes into effect March 31 following a public outreach effort by the Beaverton Police Department, Beaverton School District and city to educate students and families about the new rules.

“In passing this ordinance we are being proactive and taking a step in the right direction before a tragedy happens,â€

Yes...you can. But I don't see why you would.

At Mopar: Those are for stupid backyard warz kids who lack firearm safety and common sense. It makes me happy that those kids can get cited for being retarded.
