Well I had this relative that came from Austria to visit and he was very much interested when we mentioned the word airsoft. So we decided to go airsofting and take him too before he went back home to Austria the next day. Since it was out of city we were thinking to go airsofting around the MT: Hood forest for like 2 hours ( we didn't have that much time that day). But before we did we stoped in Sandy at the Ranger station to see were it would be ok to airsoft in the forest. Shesh, if you don't have that much time on hand like say you only have two hours to airsoft before you have to go home, don't stop at the ranger station unless you want to waste like an hour. The lady didn't know to much at the ranger station in Sandy she sent us to another ranger station up the road to talk to the people there. Well we get there and after explaining what airsoft is and saying that it is NOT a fire danger and that the only way airsoft could cause a fire was because the battery blew up. After a while of talking to them and them making phone calls, they finally told us what we could do.
So for you not to go through what I did here is the rules:
1. Can't shoot across any road even if its a dead end road.
2. Can't airsoft near a road need to be at least 100 ft away from the road
3. Need to have bio degradable bbs
4. Can't shoot over water, like lake, stream, and rivers.
5. They also said they don't recommend airsofting near a hiking trail.
6. Also they said you're not allowed to airsoft near some one's property
OK also this is what the ranger said " I'm surpprised airsofting has more rules the a real gun does", doesn't that make you feel sooo good.
Edit: Once we found a good place to airsoft we had lots of fun. But man the rangers really didn't know what to say when we first asked them about were we could airsoft, airsoft a fire danger.... please.
