utg m14 question

Postby k-rog » Wed Aug 28, 2013 4:30 pm

this has probably been asked before but should I upgrade my utg m14? Tokyo marui is and always will be out of my price range so that's out of the question. the gun stock ( well mine can ) can shoot a man sized target 227 feet. which is oddly good for that brand. so any ideas?

Tokyo Marui is far from your only choice in picking up a better M14, and no, it won't always be out of your price range. You may never be willing to drop good money on a good replica, but that doesn't make it prohibitively expensive.

I've handled the UTG and it's alright. Couldn't hurt to drop in a tightbore barrel, at the very least. I'm not sure what's inside a UTG gearbox, but I know M14 gearboxes can be frustrating to get in and out of the stock and crack open thanks to some of the more unique design features demanded by the frame of the rifle. Sounds like it's shooting fine already, though, and every time you change an AEG, you risk doing something that ruins it forever, no matter how safe it seems.

The UTG is TM cloned, so only fits TM parts. A better option might be the G&G or CA, as the new CA is only about $210 or so.

An EBR Kit for the UTG might be expensive, as the one I know of is the G&P. There may be a china version out there.

Also, if you want a CA, the new CA EBR is only $365, so that could be an option too.

i had no clue it was a TM clone. Are TM parts hard to find or are they just expensive? in my opinion 365$ is kind of much. is upgrading it cheaper?

It has been working great for me for the first month or so until about lastweek when I was firing it on fully automatic perfectly.Leopard rc moteur. I switched my selector switch to single, but the weapon was still firing fully automatic, and has not switched back to single. Does anyone know what might cause this problem? I figured I would get so insight before I disect this thing..

By the sounds of it... your selector has broken. This is the part you will be looking for... http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=29896 Luckily, its very easy to get to it.

1) Make sure the chamber is clear, and mag is removed.
2) Pull your trigger guard down, and then forward towards the muzzle.
3) Remove trigger guard assembly.
4) Lift rear end of the receiver.

Part linked should be "wrapped" around the back of the receiver.

This is all from memory, from when I had my m14 AEG. Others should be able to chime in, in the event I forgot something.

Edit: very good picture guide... http://www.airsoft-barracks.com/forums/ ... own-guide/

Buy the Kart EBR. The complete gun is cheaper than a kit by itself. I REALLY like EBR style M14's.
