New-fangled A.E.G.'s...

Postby book42 » Thu Nov 07, 2013 1:12 pm

Well, maybe not so "new-fangled" but check these out: http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/ind ... ord=+81513

http://6mmgunworks.com/collections/6mmgw

The AEX A.E.G.'s are lipo ready... good price point, too. Any thoughts?

Eh not really impressed. Lipo ready is a fictitious statement. Ambi controls are not needed for Airsoft (and I'm a lefty...). Quick change spring is nice but version 2 gearboxes aren't really built for them. This can also encourage cheating as you chrono with one and than change the spring out after. One piece hop ups aren't new and a 6.03mm barrel is almost standard now.

The OEM is from HongKong. The AX model looks almost identical to the LWRC models from Classic Army. Looks like AEX went and ordered a bunch of unbranded CA's and are selling them as a house brand.
I'm a major chairsofter, sorry about that.

You might try asking the manufacturer instead of the forum...

its the only way now since KWA has a license deal with LWRC, their new guns will be at shot show in a couple of months.

Just found this video on line regarding the apex guns.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEiGl_WZLLQ

Granted, I am no tech. (When I've got a gun problem or query I rush it over to Airsoft Outlet NW. No fuss. No muss.) But the performance on these looks pretty awesome.

not realy impressed, but they seem to be ok for the $2-300 price tag. not what i would consider 11.1v lipo ready even though apex says thiers is, i would have to see a mosfet in thier stats to even consider it lipo ready, but thats only if they didnt go with the cheap crap. one of the main points that throw me off of buying either of these guns is the quick change spring system, ive seen to many quick change spring systems fail.

I think, and again this is with the full knowledge that I'm no technician, that the quick-change spring system is nothing close to a Systema or We-tech Katana; you must remove the gear box from the body to "quick-change" said spring.

Oh well, thought it was well worth the discussion. Thanks to everybody for all their input.

I use an 11.1v lipo in all of my guns and have never had a problem... Non of them have mosfets. Mosfets are over rated pieces of useless kit.

I'm wondering what the over rated useless piece of kit here really is. :D Anyways I'd like to see what the tech savy people have to say.

Thank you,

and what batteries is it that you use? let me guess, you got it from a airsoft store/website or its listed as an airsoft battery and it has a 15-20c discharge rate. its ok though, you dont have to use a mosfet if you dont want to. i, on the other hand, will continue to build guns that push the performance capable from an airsoft gun.
have a nice day.
