7.62 AK variants

Postby EnarahRovaaniik » Sun Nov 10, 2013 2:17 pm

I'm craving a new AK lately, but want something unique that is also a 7.62 variant, don't want a 74 or any other 5.45 variant. No run of the mill AK47 though. Been looking at an AMD-65. Anyone have some suggestions?

You can never go wrong with an AKM or the AKMS. Both are fantastic and really, really cool. Then again, you can swap out the wood on the AKMS, place in polymer, for a more modern AKMS look. Real nifty.

You can also pack around an AK103 (which, to my understanding, is an AK74MN/AK104 externally that feeds 7.62 AK magazines, and correct me if I am wrong) for a very modern appearance. While not too heavily in use, you see them from time to time, and they're really nifty and pimped out by their FSB/MVD operator.

The AMD-65 is really cool and everything, and certainly unique. Recommended. You can pick up a Romanian AIMS, which is essentially an AKM wit that 'Donkey Dong' grip, Romanian folding stock, 74 gas block, but can go a a 5.45 or a 7.62 spewing rifle. Depends on the magazines.

That's all I have off the top of my head.
I'd tell you to be careful. It's not the Tank you need to fear.
It's Slumberman

Do you want a long or short gun?

There are lots of options comrade! You could try the jg/magpul "beta" ak's, the "spetsnaz", AKMS, AK74u, the "contractor" AK's, SVD/Dragunov, the PP19, AMD 65, the Dboy "SLR". Have a look here: http://www.evike.com/index.php?cPath=21_672_719

Don't really have a preference honestly.
But now I'm looking at this: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=4807
And I'm thinking I'll put a wood handguard on it, and take off the stock, so I have somewhat of a Krinkov.

If you are willing to put some time into it I would suggest, get a base AKM, a gas tube rail, an extended outer barrel (I think 21"-22" looks best), and a surplus Egyptian Misr forestock, this is my idea of a good AK.

Might want to check out the CA KC-98. Very nice and looks like nothing else.
I'm a major chairsofter, sorry about that.

That gun IS a Krinkov. Put a triangle stock on it and an AK74 mag and BOOM. Might as well buy the Krinkov by DBOY.
