Need a recommendation.

Postby -=Silver-Dragon=- » Thu Jan 02, 2014 3:49 pm

What would be a good AEG to purchase for around 150 - 200 dollars that has a good weight, accurate up to 120 feet with a decent mag in it. I'm not looking for a high cap or a winding mag I'm looking for something that will hold about 200 rounds. As for accuracy I am a bit lenient because I will be doing CQC matches more often than outdoor or ranged matches.

If you could recommend a sidearm as well that would be great.

Thanks guys.

G&G combat machines.

And deal with the hicap, 200 bbs isn't a whole lot.

If it's mainly for indoors, JG MP5.

For a cheap sidearm, KJW M9. Mine is 7 years old, no issues at all.

Good weight, that makes it a bit harder.
Maybe a used sig 556?
If you want a new gun I would recommend a KWA CQR, with a pack of socom gear lancer mags for the requested mag capacity.
As to a pistol, I would also recommend a KJW.

Hope this is helpful,

I always thought combat machines felt really cheap. But hey, It's not my money.

I've always had fun with my kwa cqr. Never any fuss like wobbly stocks or anything of the sort. in all it's an amazing gun in the price range and what you are using it for.

The JG m4s is a great starter gun. It still has m4 qualities but without the redundant a1 look. Though for $30 more you could get a combat machine and a good battery... but just about everybody has one so you get 0 on uniqueness.
The JG m4s was my and many others "first" AEG and it never disappointed me. Great range and accuracy, older versions were better in my opinion. Take the front rails off and the weight should be manageable

G&G 100Y EBB. The "Y" stands for why wouldn't you get this gun! Sorry, being cheesy is sometimes fun. No realz, it's a real good gun for the price.(round $220) Quick change battery, folding stock, great range and accuracy. But the best part is I've beaten the hell out of this gun, still works great. Even with it being plastic. Great for arena play cus it will fit in most backpack/messenger bags.

Cyma AK variant. Version 3 gearbox is solid. The magazines are huge and the weapon can go with many different looks.

If you want a NATO weapon, go with a G36. Solid weapons and have the Version 3.

If you want an AR variant, there are a lot of options out there.

To second Darius-
The CYMA ak's are great guns and are very affordable and customizable.

And the JG/Echo1 series of g36's are also amazing guns for the money. Just avoid the "new" versions. The latest JG g36's have a proprietary hop-up that does not work very well and breaks easily. On top of that, finding a replacement is impossible. (I zip-tied my brothers hop up to the barrel to make it work)

On a quick side note, did they also change the magwell design? (TM & clones had a tube that fed bbs from the mag well into the hop-up chamber, I seem to remember seeing the newer JG models did away with that).

To the OP: G36 is my recommendation as well (obviously). Not a super common Ar, and has a version 3 gearbox. Only annoyance is the mags are huge (but the lovely Magpull G36 PMAGs are a wet dream come true). My first G36 (an Echo-1 from 2008) made it over 80k rounds before I tried to play airsurgeon and ruined it.

EDIT: Lovely, my first post in a couple years and it ends up being a response to a necropost...
