Opinions on parts needed!

Postby NicholasC47 » Thu Apr 17, 2014 8:06 pm

I am planning on doing my first upgrade to an AEG and decided to make a watered down version of a DMR (Just using high torque and a harder spring and calling it a "DMR"). I've comprised a list and thought to get some expert opinions since my knowledge of parts is minimal. Could I get some suggestions for alternative parts or information about these parts? Thanks in advanced.

Look at a longer barrel... Basic AEG I like the 363mm... But if your making it a DMR look at the 420mm or larger... Don't know much about the other stuff.

I think 363mm is fine if you make sure the compression and volume balancing are as perfect as you can get them. Longest range shot I've seen was a 375 foot shot out of a 363 mm barrel, with a first round hit. Part luck, part skill, and part quality equipment. That being said, I believe the MTC3 has 300mm barrel, so you may need to get a new cylinder to volume balance a 363.

The PDI ravens are extremely good barrels, and were actually tested to be slightly more consistent than the regular PDI .01 line, which was attributed to the PDI 01 being more sensitive to BB quality.

I'm a big fan of Firefly buckings, but if you're planning to shoot high fps, you may want to look the hard bucking, and you will also need a flat hop nub to take full advantage of it. (This is what firefly recommends.)

I would also look into a nozzle with an o-ring on it, as this is an important part of taking advantage of your good compression.

Also, Lonex Motors > whatever rebranded matrix motor that is. (I think SHS?)

and you cannot forget this part: http://www.clandestineairsoft.com/scatt ... -p-41.html
otherwise you will be shopping for a gb shell sooner than you would like.

this is a list of parts that i would recomend over the parts or at least the places you listed to buy them from.
this is also a trusted retailer for many techs that i know. the owner of this store started out as a tech and only carys parts he trusts or has requests from other techs.

there is alot more that i could tell you but i have to get to work on some guns here at my house or im going to have some irate customers soon.

the barrel he has listed is a 303mm barrel not a 363mm, but i would also go with a 363-407mm barrel and a type-2 stainless cylinder to match the barrel.
