VFC scar H mids too tight

Postby renotheturk02 » Fri Jan 23, 2015 9:49 am

Browsing around I haven't found much info on this problem, here and elsewhere. I bought a triple pack of mids for my scar H and they are a very tight fit. It's to the point that if the angle isn't spot on they won't go in. The high cap and a single mid I have go in without issue. They also drop free while the 3 pack mids seem to stick on the mag release. Anyone had this problem?

I had the opposite problem with my M4. Mags were falling out at the slightest bump. Try sanding down the interior of the magazine well. Can you feel if there's any movement towards the top of where the mag would be when the mag is inserted? It could be that the magazine well is really tight but further up it's fine. Hope you figure out a solution quickly.

if your other mags work, don't sand the magwell--sand the new mags. I had to do that with a pack of mids that I'd bought at one point.

Mod the mag not the gun! mags are cheaper than a new lower

True, don't listen to me. I fixed mine by sticking a negative piece of velcro in the back and side of the magwell, not sanding it.

Wouldn't the negative velcro make a tighter fit? It seems the body of these mids are too wide, but I don't have any calipers to check. I'm not sure if sanding the mags would work because I think it'd take off too much materia in the process.

Are you positive it is a VFC Scar H? Just asking because I've have 8 mid caps for my VFC Scar H and never have had a problem.

positive that it's vfc gun and mids. I thought this was a bit strange as I couldn't find much about it. I'm chalking it up to bad luck. No QC is perfect. Ill give the velcro a shot though.

My mags were too loose in my magwell, not too tight. I was pointing out that it might be better to mod the magwell instead of each magazine individually. My fix won't work for you.
