A&K / Echo 1 M240 Box Mag Voltage

Postby Dennis - Crossbow » Fri Aug 20, 2021 6:56 pm

So I'm working on a team M240, in dire need of repair. Old AEG, new to us.

All the specs say 9.6v for the AEG, old school. I know the box mag runs directly off the AEG battery. If I run a 11.1 lipo can the box mag handle the higher voltage :?:
Thank you,

Should be ok. From what I've seen you shouldn't intermingle voltage concerning specific electronic functions like TM's NGRS system that would require a programmable MOSFET to interact with anything beyond a 8.4v NimH for example where lockup could occur from tapping the trigger too fast. For powering a Box Mag? It's probably fine? Alternatively BrainExploder made a pull string wind up hi-cap system that's worth checking out (Check it out here: https://youtu.be/HTEVtGOuASY?t=710 ) if worst comes to worst. Hope this helps a bit!

Thanks for the reply. The pull string option is pretty cool. I have used M4 flash mags directly on another M249 and like the reliability of the feeding.
