Discussion about sniper rifles or bolt-action.

A&K SPR MOD 0

Postby TheFatGoose » Sat Jan 02, 2010 1:23 pm

I thought that this would make a good marksman rifle or semi auto sniper rifle for someone on a budget like myself. Any thought, warnings or advice would be appreciated.

its an A&K, it will need some work to make it a competitive marksman rifle.

A lot of people (like myself) go for a KJw m700, you have probably heard about it but if not give it a look. It isn't too bad out of the box and has good upgrade availability.

its not semiautomatic though, and the magazine capacity is limited. i think hes looking for more of a DM rifle, and not a sniper platform.

I've got one of these and it works great. I don't use it in a marksman capacity but it shoots straight and accurate out of the box. Great rifle! One thing you will want to do before anything if you are not going to disable full auto, that's change out the spring. Unless they've changed things in the last year, then it'll come shooting about 450 out of the box. Lower spring will also help with the reliability of the rifle down the road as while the internals are fairly solid they are not top line.

As for converting it into a full-fledged DMR. There's other options out there that in my opinion are better such as a CA/TM M14 or something of the like.
