m14, m700, jg bar 10?

Postby malik » Tue Aug 24, 2010 2:52 pm

Okay, I want to go for a DMR set-up... As in, not running around with an assault rifle spraying. I need to find the shortest STOCKED(trigger to behind butt of stock must be under 13" for comfort) sniper/dmr rifle I can find. EBR would be best for me, but they all cost over $300. So, I guess I am asking what a good stock sniper would be? I don't want to do tons of upgrading as I don't know if I'll be going to many if any big events. Just something accurate to 150+ft and over 350fps. Preferably in the 450s... I am also considering a KJW M700, however that is an unsure due to Eugene, OR weather. Or worst, Coquille, OR weather.
We want 'em to know if they're gonna leave a bomb on the side of the road, first, we're just gonna blow up their little f**kin road.

If you're relying on your own personal comfort, you're probably better off coming out to a few games and asking nicely to fondle someone else's until you find what feels best for you. All you're going to get on a forum is a ton of responses from people about what works for their own comfort (and probably a lot of shit for making a post about 'what gun should I get?').

kart makes an M14 EBR for under 200, build quality is questionable, but it's all TM compatable, so you could upgrade it to just under 400 fps if you wanted something semi-automatic, or you could find a CA M24 and adjust the stock short if you wanted a bolt action. all depends on the money. if either one will probably go to about $250
forgive my ignorance, it happens to everyone.

I use a JG SR-25. I'm pretty sure you could mount an adjustable tactical stock or just a shorter one on it if you want. 400 fps stock, mosfet, accurate up to about 100m with .20g bbs. The barrel is long enough that it won't curve to the side, but the bbs drop down after a while. I'm thinking you could get more range by using heavier bbs and turning the hop up some more. You would have to somehow disable the full auto feature if you wanted to upgrade the power, shouldn't be too hard.

Poppycock. 100 meters = 328.08399 feet

NO WAY a stock AEG hits 328 feet. Maybe 125 or 150.

I got 170ft. with a stock Dboys M4 at one point. 100m is way out there though.

I get 220ft. with my G36 DMR.

OP: You could try an AR variant, but put one of these on: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=2154

Some of the internals aren't stock anymore, somebody messed with it a bit. Anyway, it's about the distance of the 100m straightaway on our track, which is a bit shorter than the 300ft football field. Maybe one of the two or both isn't regulation, but at any rate it has waaay more range than most guns.
