VSR10

Postby Slowgun » Sat Nov 06, 2010 9:33 pm

Hey guys, I've been looking for a sniper lately, looked at some stickies, and I found this one. I'd rather not spend alot of money, as I don't have it, and I found this one for cheap. The fact that its so cheap worries me a little on quality, but it doesnt have to be some amazing sniper, just something that gets me kills. Tell me your opinions if you would, thanks!

Save up a little more and at least get some L96 variant, TSD, UTG.. Etc. Trust me, it will be worth it.

No problem, trust me my friend Dylan bought that thing and after about 130 shots, give or take a few, the bolt started sticking, BBs jammed like no other and it became a nice $60 wall hanger. On the other hand, the UTG L96 is decent and decently priced, I just sold mine though ;)

I run a $70 TSD M700 (VSR-10 clone) that I love to death. Ka-Bar used to run the same gun. They are great base platforms, however, they require a lot of time, and even a decent amount of money to get shooting to the level they should be at. The only stock parts on mine are the trigger mechanism, and the cylinder. Any bolt action rifle will require lots of time to tune just right. You'll disassemble it over a hundred times just to get the hop up set just perfectly. You'll want to upgrade it to get the most power and accuracy you can, and that gets very expensive.

My suggestion is to NOT get a bolt action rifle. Spend a few years shooting AEG's. Work on getting close to your targets without being seen. Work on using 1 round to kill a person. Work on making every shot count. Get an M16 or M14 for a DMR style rifle. You'll be able to get longer range kills, but won't be out gunned.

You probably won't listen to me, but trust me when I say, bolt action airsoft rifles are very difficult to field properly, and take a large amount of patience, technical knowledge and mechanical abilities, and the ability to hit what you shoot at. This isn't like COD4 with an aimbot. You will miss. You will be pissed because your bb curved at the last second missing the target. You'll miss because your rifle was just a tad underpowered, and the bb dropped 3 feet short. So, get an AEG.

The thing is, I have been running with an AEG for about 4 years now and wanted to try something different. I understand what you're saying though

DO NOT GET THE UTG L96, well you can but the new well mb08 is another l96 to consider. currently there are no US retailers that have it... just wgcshop.com. The reason why this gun is better then the utg l96 is that it has a foldable stock... yeah...

Slowgun, the one you chose is a great beginner sniper rifle, it can be one hell-of-a rifle if you upgrade it and get it just right too, good job on hunting that down ;)
