SVD Scopes

Postby Neo Elve » Wed Dec 08, 2010 7:28 pm

Alright AP, after all of your amazing help I bought the KWA M9 Tactical. I can't wait for it to come.
I later ordered the Real Sword SVD from Airsoft Outlet NW. .)

My question is this, what scopes would you recommend. I mean it seems like there are hundreds of choices. If you have any experience with a particular scope I'd love to hear about it.

I also know I'll need a special rail? A little help on that would be much appreciated.

Thanks again AP!

SVD Scope

That's what I found, but I'm still looking for advice.

the SVD only takes one scope. the SVD and AK mounts are different, and not interchangeable.

thats about the cheapest you will find one.

The cheap one works fine, but the illumination will go out on it. You can get the Real Sword SVD scope, which is as nice as the gun is, for about $200

Or you can buy original Russian ones for like 200 dollars. They're not hard to find and they're not expensive. With the PSO-1 or POSP (The two most common scopes used on the SVD in service), there's no reason to go with replicas.

Bonus points, this one is put on sale every once in a while for $80. Although it isn't illuminated if that is really important to you.

Yeah, I saw the ACM one and was considering it.

Now the real rifle scope seems to be amazing and a bargin at $99. Especially when you compare it to the Real Sword SVD scope that goes for $250.

So far I'll think I'll have to get the Original Romanian PSO-1 Scope but before I do, what are your thoughts on the illuminated reticule?

Personally, I have an illuminated reticule on one of my scopes and I never use it, so the lack of it on the PSO-1 is a non-issue.

Cool. Now it says the scope is nitrogen filled. What does that mean?

It means it is high quality. Nitrogen helps prevent the scope from fogging up.
