L96... repair...

Postby B.O.P. Hawk » Tue Mar 01, 2011 8:13 pm

I am in the process of making an awesome sniper rifle, and am on the last step: FPS.

unfortunately, I have come across a massive problem... My bolt broke out of my cylinder.

I need help.
I don't know how to fix this... I would rather not have to find a replacement cylinder.

This is mainly directed at KA-BAR, but I will take helpful advice from anyone.

the cylinder is toast.

you will need a new one.

no amount of JB weld or solder or anything can save that.
I am not half as good as I want to be, but I am twice as good as you think I am.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!!!
Your cylinder like the previous gentlemen said is "toast", in your situation, you cant either go with a new stock cylinder, or a aftermarket cylinder. Whether you buy a aftermarket cylinder or a stock cylinder is completely based upon what you have in you gun. If your internals are stock, you should buy a stock cylinder, if you have a aftermarket piston and spring you should definately buy a new cylinder,

http://www.renegadeairsoft.com/utg-bolt ... rifle.html here it is, 20 bucks for stock cylinder, piston, spring, and spring guide. To avoid this problem in the near future, i would suggest pulling the bolt STRAIGHT back instead of sometimes pulling back-left or back-right, as it puts strain on the bolt end and will eventually break.

there is only one way to correctly arm your Bolt action rifle.

step one. lift bolt handle
step two. place thumb on back of the bolt.
step three. grip the bolt handle and pull strait back.
step four. push bolt forward.
step five. lock handle down.

I use the bolt arm/lever (meaning that is where I put my thumb) for the forward motion, and only use the back of the bolt handle if I am trying to get faster forward motion to reset quicker. Am I doing this wrong? Does this cause the deathly side-to-side force that causes bolt handle detachments?

Thank you very much! After I pay Limpy back, I will make my AGM VSR10 presentable enough to field at AP games (as a legitimate platform).
I am extremely interested in seeing how things are (actually) done (by the experienced players).

Can anybody give me an alternate site for this, or perhaps another cheapish cylinder?
