the echo 1 m28 is a n ice rifle out of the boox it will hit 200ft with some practice and good ammo and shoots between 520 and 550fps out of the box with .20 but hte gun does not have a piston on the market yet that is metal so you have to hope it doesnt start slam firing. however ive put 200 shots through mine with no problems. the javeling m24 is completly differnt and is suposed be be aps2 parts compatible but it comes shooting only 450fps out of the box. overall id get the m28 but dont take off the tip tell ur warrenty is over

I like how whenever you see this stupid a$$ sniper rifle threads, they're always posted by like a 14 or 15 year old kid.

Yep, the n00b sN1p3rz fad is one we'll either have to deal with or completely ignore. It wouldn't hurt to really do your homework just reading those KA-BAR threads. I don't mind trying to help people, so here we go.

This seems like a cool deal to me. KA-BAR loves his and my buddy has one.
(Well MB-02, short VSR)

With a bolt, it's not a bad idea to play stock for a while. Refining your skills is much more important than quick amazing upgrades (in my opinion). Being a "bolt turner" is a challenge, one of the stickies on here points that out. I think of it as something harder than normal AEG use. So I was glad to see your profile says you already have an M4.
I'm contemplating the endeavor myself. I once owned a pretty trick UTG L96. Now I sort of want a "scout rifle," something that's a little smaller, and basically a slightly more accurate and powerful gun that just doesn't require batteries or gas. It's kind of a fun adventure.
I've always been really interested in a Marui G-Spec (just keeping it stock), but the cost might turn you away. About $270 after shipping here. It'd be cool just cuz you'd have a really soft-shooting, accurate, nice quality bolt that wasn't like what every other n00b owned.
Have a good time!
