300 feet is possible, if you have a shit load of money and a ton of airsoft experience....not you switchback

Dude, we're talking about 300 feet at 360 FPS. Not 550.

As for the original topic of this thread, DMRs in airsoft are practically just unique semi-auto assault rifles and not worth the extra time and money when a DM role in airsoft is really a matter of playing style. SO, in my humble opinion, it would be best to keep from fiddling around with the internals and instead just upgrade the hop-up, if you have the know how. From there, you can stick with the DM role or do something else without having to start over and buy a new AEG. But if you really feel the need for a semi-auto AEG that will preform the same as anything else, I think putting something in to block the fire selector would be the least invasive and the easiest. And BS on shooting 300 yards a center mass target. My G96 with .25s can't even do that. Just sayin.
