VSR10 upgrade problemos.

Postby Sea Bass » Sun May 08, 2011 6:18 pm

I have recently upgraded my WELL VSR10 with a new hop up bucking, spring, and 6.01 TBB, but the problem seems to be that the bb does not stay in the barrel once fed through the magazine. Any suggestions on what can be done?

It sounds like a hop up problem. Check and make sure that your bucking is installed properly and that the nub is being pushed down.

With the hop up bucking? do you want the hop up bucking facing where the mechanism for the lever is? or which way do you want it facing?

War Hawk, there is no nub in vsr-10's. Please don't give advice on things you don't know about.

Sea Bass: Where is the bb coming out of? Is it rolling down the barrel? Is your hop up turned on at all? Is this a Well MB-03? I think they had funky hop ups... If you are able to, can you post pictures of the hop unit, and exposed end of the barrel?

Edit: The tab on the bucking should be at the back of the barrel, where the piston inserts into the bucking. It will sit in the slot in the hop up unit. Make sure you have it together correctly.

yes it is just rolling down the barrel, yes its a mb-03 (I believe, got it off AP[worked fine]), working on the pictures now. Yes I do have the bucking inserted in the hop up unit. Is there a way where the "nub" of the hop up bucking should be pointed? I have it at the lever of the hop up that moves (if you know what im saying?)
How much of the hop up do you wish to see? I got the outside (terrible Pics btw)

Like I said, the Mb03 uses a different hop up configuration than a VSR-10, and thus can't use vsr10 buckings. Look at the old bucking, it's longer and doesn't have a tab on it (or it shouldn't if it really is a mb03).

Does your old bucking look like this (minus the green color): http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9 ... Em-zcTTvbg

Note the tab that is sticking out on it.

This is how a vsr-10 hop up looks together: http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9 ... yyr9lQ&t=1
That tab goes in the notch cut out of the hop up. Notice it in this picture near the right side in the middle with the black thing in it. That is how a vsr-10 hop up should look when assembled. Look at your old bucking. Does it have the tab sticking out of it?

Yes I see what you are saying. Everything is correct to what you are saying. But one of my problems may be that I have the tab on the gap of the barrel. (by gap I mean
on the left side)?
btw, my hop up is actually black, unlike the photo you provided, but that may not matter.

So the tab is sitting over the cut out in the barrel? That is incorrect. The cutout in the barrel is where the hop up ENTERS the barrel and puts backspin on the bb. The tab that sticks off of the bucking should be at a 90 degree angle to the right side of if.

I need you to compare the 2 buckings side by side. I'm 90% sure the Well uses a different bucking, and isn't compatible with the vsr10 bucking.

I have this same problem with my socom gear m700. It hasn't had any hopup or barrel work done to it, and the BB will roll out of the barrel if tipped down. And my hop up is just slightly on.
My father once told me, "Some times all you have is a bullet and a prayer, don't miss."

Jester: I had fixed what you had said, but the bb still rolls through. What do you suggest?

Can you take it apart and get a picture of the barrel end? Specifically, the ring cut into the end, and the hop up notch.

yes I can. But the picture will probably only be as good as the last one.
EDIT: Yeah the picture probably will not happen. Its just one big blur. No matter what I do. Ive tried other settings on the camera...its crap :(

Ive PM'd a couple people, so hopefully I receive some good information soon.
