Given that he lives in Gig Harbor, Wa I am not sure those are viable options.
Here you go. A few examples of ways to do semi auto only
have the upper and lower apart, switch to semi, mark the gearbox where the selector plate is. Mark where the selector plate rear stops.Drill and tap a small hole, and install a set screw in it. Tread lock as it won't be against anything

have the upper and lower apart, switch to semi, mark the gearbox where the selector plate is. Take out the gearbox and use hot glue or something to stop the selector plate from moving any farther back. Done. With this, you still have the safety but can't move to auto

The easiest way to completely disable full auto is to modify the selector plate. If you look at the side of a V2 mechbox, there is a small cutout that the cut-off lever sticks through. When the selector plate is in full auto, it pulls this part of the cut-off lever all the way back (pulling it away from the sector gear). So what you have to do is trim the selector plate so that it can not pull the lever back.
It takes about 1.5mm off of the front of a cut out in the plate to do this but when you see it and slide the plate back and forth, the mod is fairly obvious.
This is probably the quickest, and most guaranteed to work. Plus, if you keep two selector plates, you can fairly easily reverse the mod (for plinking or whatever).
and to answer your second question, I can modify them if brought into my shop if you are ever in the area (Salem, oregon)
