Sorry if this is old news, I'm sure it is, but recently I have been wanting to purchase a certain pistol from redwolf that recommends using TOP gas, and up until this find I was pretty stoked about it... is there really no way you can order HFC22? Doesn't seem right

It's also known as propane and an adapter.

... Top gas = propane? Same or relatively same properties?

CO2 is different and somewhat more powerful than the HFC brand gas.
The HFC brand gas is the Taiwan mixture which according to the bottle is C4H10,C3H8 (propane) and silicon.

If you want to get it as a premixed gas instead of getting an adapter and mixing it yourself, you'll have to get it in stores unfortunately, and then prepare to pay a hazmat fee.

I misspoke about the Co2. Is it much of a pain to mix yourself?

I dont know about top gas, but propane is basically green gas(minus silicone lube, which you can buy specialized for airsoft, or get in a spray-can at napa for ~$4) get an adapter(shortyUSA has the best price that I found, for a full metal(doesn't freeze/crack) and good reviews.(I bought mine from them, but as I havent picked up my m700 yet, I haven't tested it.(>.< im so anxious/excited)

edit:

as for properties, due to the lack of a regulator, and higher pressure(I think that's the reason anyway) people consistently report higher fps consistency, and fps in general when using propane as opposed to green gas.

edit again:

the one from shorty doesnt have a silicon port; I assume you just spray/drop it in before screwing it onto the canister?

Nope. Modern adapters have a port for silicon. Its super easy.

Yea, I was hoping to err on the side of caution by purchasing the gas specifically recommended, especially considering the price of the gun I'm looking at, but it seems easy enough
