How long do c02 stay inside a mag?

Postby Chairmanlao » Sat Jan 30, 2010 9:41 pm

We all know that to keep our gas mags charged with gas.
However, what about c02 guns.

If you were to put a .12 gram c02 into a mag, and broke the seal, and left it sit there.
How long would the gas stay?

Just wondering about c02 and mags.

Thanks for youri nput

I left one in a gun for 3 month (put it in, shot a few times, then left for school). Came back and it seemed fine.

The main issue with leaving gas in guns / mags is that it can damage the seals making necessary annoying / expensive repairs. A slight amount of pressure is good , too much for extended periods can cause damage. Bleed most off if you remember to. Spend your money on "toys" instead

Yeah, be careful with this. If you have good seals, they will stay as long as you want.

How ever when you are done, you might not have seals anymore.

I made the mistake of doing this with a few of my other CO2 guns...

Sounds good. I guess I better just leave it there after games, and not "on purpose"

Thanks!!

I had a 12g. CO2 cartridge in a paintball pistol for over a year, and it still worked. it was even outside in the snow all winter. brought it in for a bit. let it warm up, and it shot.

though.. airsoft guns are more delicate.
