Reliable GBB?

Discussion of GBB (gas blowback) replicas.

Reliable GBB?

Postby Switchback » Tue May 17, 2011 11:19 pm

Every time I purchase a GBB, it ends up breaking. Even after care, it just seems that the parts in my previous WE, KWA, HFC, and KJW replicas are just cheap.

I want a GBB that holds ~20 rounds and can actually fire them on a magazine fill. It must be able to fire at least 1000 rounds before having a failure, and must be skirmishable. I am tired of dealing with awful replicas that crumble in my hands. Must be <~$180 new, but am highly interested in a nice used replica.
Does not need to fit SERPA holsters, but must be compatible with some type of hard shell holster.

Thank you all very much.

Tokyo Marui.

Don't say no because of the plastic or I slap you with my Desert Eagle. Just keep the mags lubed. You'll find players with 5-6 year old TM GBBs and their MK.23 that work just fine. They all have parts available (cept for the desert eagle since it's a bit obscure).

well its because you've been running M9's, which are notorious for failures due some design flaws.

Get a 1911, get a TM or a KWA (I saw KWA because I've had my MK series for over 2 years and I've never had one problem). Keep your gun cleaned and lubed, treat it like a real firearm and don't abuse it.

I love KWAs. I have had two of their 1911s, an original M1911A1 and an M1911 MK4 PTP. Both work great. I lost the magazine for the original one though. However, KWA has GREAT customer service...you can see my review in the retailer talk section. They are a great company and their guns are great.
Did you buy the KWAs new?

I'm personally a huge fan of KWA. Their M9 pistol was the first one in their PTP line, and if you got them when they first came out, you may have had a few issues.

Their new stuff is rock solid. We test fired a KWA M1911 MKIV a few days ago that fired 55 rounds out of one gas fill. I've had their USP Compact that fired over 100 rounds on one gas fill, so their guns can be super efficient (compared to KJW, WE, HFC).
