WE 1911 slide locking problems

Postby Mr. Killing Spree » Tue Jul 26, 2011 5:08 pm

My 1911 slide is not locking back like it should. I fired blanks out of it and only about 1 out of 15 shots did the slide actually lock back. is there a way to fix this?

Maybe due to low gas compression?
Also, check your magazine's follower (bb pusher).
If those check out, then examine the slide release itself (compare to google images).

thank you for the info. I just examined the slide release and I found that where the slide goes between the slide release there was a bunch of extra metal gouped up in there so I filled it down as best I could without breaking anything and now it locks back 14 out of 15 times

i usually put two BBs underneath the follower spring at the bottom to give it some more tension. decreases your magazine capacity, but it helps the slide lock back because the follower is pushing up on the catch with more pressure.
