Discussion of GBB (gas blowback) replicas.

Which is best?

Postby n5lyc » Fri Mar 16, 2012 9:02 am

Hi, this is not exactly your "normal" what gun should i get question.

I have been in airsoft for a long time, I started with Asahi, Sun Project, and Jac guns (now called classic airsoft) and was hooked.

I got out for a while, then went back in with an aeg (classic army proline) but still loved gas guns.

I have had my share of gbb pistols, of all manufacturers and price ranges.

Currently I am running a KWA MP9, and a m11. (i have owned SEVERAL m11's just have always had a thing for them.)

My question is relating to the gbb rifles on the market.

We?, WA, G&P WOC, KA, GHK?

What is the attributes of each over the others?
I would prefer detailed answers from people that have owned the rifles, not hearsay from someone like "my brother has it and it sucks" kind of answers.

I am looking at a polarstar, but that is like the old classic airsoft stuff, and I no longer have the HPA tanks and such.
(and i can build a REAL ar-15 for the price).

Thanks in advance.

45 Bravo
I make 2 predictions:
ON THE DATE WHEN US TROOPS ARE ISSUED AN Energy Pulse Weapon,
1. The US Soldier will have on his person a version of the Colt 1911
2. He will be aiming the NEW Weapon at someone carrying an AK

But in all seriousness, I highly suggest the Polarstar.

1) American made

2) Adjustable computer shit so you can adjust rounds per second and FPS for indoor or outdoor

3) HPA has no issues due to weather (all other gas ones do)

4) HPA is cheaper than green gas (I assume)

5) Most people I know using non-Polarstar gas guns have issues. A lot of them. Looks very frustrating and they are less effective on the field.

6) If you're looking at a non-Polarstar gas gun, wait for the KWA one being released soon.

If you want a self-contained Gas Blowback rifle, I would recommend waiting for the KWA LM4. I have tested the other ones currently on the market and have not found any that are skirmish worthy, in my opinion.

The G&P WOC may be the exception to that, but they're fairly expensive as well.

Another Classic user....Woot

Currently, if you are not hooked to a hose, the gbbs are not very consistent. While I use a WE m4 as a secondary. However, it is slightly modified to make it skirmishable. I have been around a WE G36 that seemed very skirmishable in stock form.

Just get a JAC m16! You know you wanna.

If you want the GBB, The Escort guns are out there, However Daytona Guns started using a similar Escort Engine that seems decent also, though you pay for it $$$$. There were some issues with the US distributor, not sure if that was ever sorted out, though I assume it was as I havent really paid tons of attention in a year or so.

Cant go wrong with Asahi or JAC though :D
